Learn how to shoot professional portraits while working with a professional model. By attending this course, you’ll get some stunning images to add to your portfolio and also learn how to create professional portraits under the guidance of professional photographers. You’ll learn about image composition, and to make the best use of available light to create outstanding images.

WHAT TO EXPECT

With nearly 10 years of experience shooting portraits Matthew will share his approach to photographing wedding portraits and, with the help of a model bride, demonstrate the finer points of setting up your shot, finding the best light and directing your subjects so they feel comfortable – and look natural – in front of the camera.

Each participant will be able to use their own equipment and will also have access to a selection of Tamron lenses and expert advice to help you get the most out of their camera.

Attendees will have plenty of time to shoot their own images and ask questions throughout the session. The event is designed to help you learn, explore and develop your creative and technical skills.

WHAT WE WILL DO

We’ll start with an introduction to portrait photography. We’ll discuss the creative tools and techniques required to create professional portraits. You’ll learn essential skills for shooting, composing, and lining up the perfect shots.

You would get sufficient individual shooting time to create exclusively structured poses. We would have 2 variations in the shoot (location/background/lighting changes) to create a wide variety of images for your portfolio.

Morning Session 9-11

Studio Portraits at The Zone Gallery

This session is aimed at being is a learning experience where you get to use studio lights and light modifiers, and setting these up for portrait photography.

Afternoon Session 2-4

Natural Light Portraits

Whether you’re just starting out in portraiture or are a more experienced photographer, you’ll pick up great tips and techniques for creating portraits using natural light.

We begin this workshop with an overview of techniques and types of lenses used to create these style of portraits. Armed with an understanding of these key concepts and tips for shooting portraits, we’ll then shoot with our models on location.
