Join us in Beautiful Maleny in our custom built studio perched on 2.5 acres of manicured grounds for you to explore.
We are dedicated to getting you to a level of ability and creativity, that allows you to be confident with a DSLR or Mirrorless in your hands, and create images you will want to display.
Many barriers have been broken down thanks to the rise of digital photography. There still remains The Essentials which are needed to separate a good photograph from a great one. The camera itself is still a challenge, as more and more features become available, and the menu system can be very daunting. If you’d love to be more confident with your DSLR or Mirrorless camera, this course is right for you.
Over 3 hrs we will go through:
- The camera settings to ensure you are set up for your type of photography.
- We guide you through the basics of pre visualising and then capturing a great image amongst the stunning Maleny landscape.
- Finally we cover the basics of data management and post production in Lightroom.

We explain and teach you everything you need to know in a very easy to understand format, so you can get on with your subject matter and creating great images. You will be confident with camera settings and what they do, the gear you really need, creating desired outcomes, and what happens after the image is captured… the best processing practices available.
We include morning or afternoon tea depending on the time of your workshop.
Don’t forget your camera, your laptop or device, and your creative passion.
We have everything else covered!!!
Pack your camera gear and a tripod if you have one. Bring your your laptop and charger, or iPad etc. If it looks like bad weather, best to also bring your wet weather gear and a jacket just in case. There will be a notebook and pen all ready for you.
Complete our online booking form. Once we receive your form we will send through an invoice for payment.
50% Deposit is required to secure your booking. Balance is due 7 days before workshop.
If you cancel your workshop booking you may incur fees. Please read my cancellation policy here.
If a workshop does not reach the minimum numbers required, it may have to be postponed. If this happens you will receive a full refund or an option to reschedule.

Cath’s dream of being a professional photographer was realised early on in her career. After graduating from Queensland College of Art with a Bachelor of Photography, Cath started Vivid Photography with Rich over 20 years ago and has been telling stories through wonderful imagery ever since. Photographing both weddings and portraits, Cath has a level of experience spanning 25 years that few women can match in Australia. An international principal photographer, Cath is in demand from clients wanting a unobtrusive but assured professional photographer providing insightful moments as well as a creative eye.
